Healthy Activity

The second health mantra is healthy activity.

Healthy activity doesn't have to be a chore or allotted extra time out of your busy schedule. There are many ways to fulfill this daily requirement without having to join a gym. The American Heart Association recommends at least 30 minutes per day, 5 days a week of moderate exercise to stay healthy.

Here are tips for getting a work out while doing your daily routine.

Park farther away and take a walk to your destination.

Take the stairs up when you have a few floors to climb.

Need to watch your favorite TV show-  Get on a Stationary Exercise Bike or a

Treadmill(On Sale 35% off)

Talk on your phone and walk while you do so.

Take your kids for a brisk walk or visit the mall if the weather is cold or you want a change of environment.

Pick up a sport, tennis, golf, badminton, or simply play ball with the kids.

If you're serious about your health and want to take charge consider investing in a device (that can monitor your steps, activity level, heart rate and sleep pattern to help calculate daily calories burnt) called a FITBIT

As you will soon realize the list goes on and on and on....You will soon be able to come up with your own 30 min a day of healthy activity to keep your heart pumping, your arteries open, and your lungs strong.

For those who are more health enthusiasts, the ideal heart rate to build up to depends on your age and your baseline health and heart rate.

For healthy people without heart problems the following formula provides an approximate target HR. Subtract your age decade from 100 and double the answer and add to your age. The target heart rate ranges from 90 to that number. eg age in 40s therefore 100-40=60. Double 60 = 120. Add that to 40s so the target should ranges from 90 to 160 (120+40)
